Being a part of the Madre Legacy Council has been truly transformational for me. Madre Legacy was an incredibly enriching experience. The program was well-structured, with clear objectives and expectations set from the beginning. All the presenters including Christine were highly experienced professionals who were genuinely invested in our growth and development. I am deeply grateful for the Madre de Legacy Council and the wisdom Christine shares through this mentorship. This journey has been a powerful mirror, revealing the blind spots I hadn’t yet seen as I move through my life and career. I have been blessed to have a successful midwifery career for the last 14 years. I don’t know if I even have the words to describe the medicine that The Madre Legacy Council has been for me in this stage of my life. I’ve been so used to being in spaces where I had to assimilate or hide different aspects of myself to “calibrate” to the frequency of the room. From the first retreat I went to with Christine, it felt like I could finally be and bring all of me. Where my hypervigilence to find belonging and safety was no longer needed and that has freed up so much space for me to just receive, heal, create and weave my magic and birth my work in a way I didn’t know was possible. Learning from another woman of color whose values match mine, whose language and experience mirror mine is something I didn’t know my soul needed until I experienced it. I don’t think as WOC that we understand just how much we need to be amongst other women whose experiences mirror ours.
